Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should I book?
Ideally 4-6 weeks before your trip to allow time for vaccines to take effect and complete multi-dose courses. However, we also offer last-minute travel health consultations - some vaccines provide protection within days.
Which vaccinations do I need for my trip?
The vaccines you need depend on your destination, length of stay, activities planned, and medical history. Our pharmacist will assess your individual risk and recommend the appropriate vaccines during your consultation.
Can I get travel vaccines at a pharmacy?
Yes. As a registered travel health clinic, our pharmacists can administer all travel vaccinations and prescribe antimalarial medication without a GP referral.
Are travel vaccinations available on the NHS?
Some vaccines (Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Cholera, and boosters for Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio) may be available free on the NHS through your GP. Others, like Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, and Rabies, are private-only. We stock all travel vaccines and can administer them the same day.
Do I need a Yellow Fever certificate?
Some countries require proof of Yellow Fever vaccination for entry. We are a registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre and can issue the International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) on the same day.
Do I need antimalarial tablets?
Malaria prevention is recommended for travel to many tropical and subtropical regions. Our pharmacist will assess your destination risk and prescribe the most appropriate antimalarial for your trip.
What vaccinations do I need for Hajj or Umrah?
Meningitis ACWY vaccination is mandatory for all Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. Saudi Arabia requires a valid ACWY certificate for your visa application. We also recommend Seasonal Flu, COVID booster (if available), Hepatitis A, and a Polio booster. Book at least 4-6 weeks before travel so the vaccines have time to take effect.
